I like computers, music, data, weather, and other related pursuits

I am currently a Data Engineering Manager at American Family Insurance. My interests include data analysis and machine learning for large data sets as well as weather, climate, and geospatial data and analysis.

I completed my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Tennessee Knoxville where I studied and worked at the Innovative Computing Laboratory led by Dr. Jack Dongarra. My work and research was focused on developing tools to analyze, predict, and optimize the performance of parallel computations. My dissertation was based on a discrete event simulation toolkit for task-based runtimes. During my studies, I completed coursework in mathematics, statistics, parallel computing, data visualization, data mining, and machine learning. More recently, I have been pursuing a Master’s degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Applied Meteorology at Mississippi State University. I also had internship experiences at the University of Denver, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Allstate, and PYA Analytics.
